ABOUT MARTHA ROBINSON CURVE OF THE EARTH DESIGN

I bring over 30 years of gardening and horticultural experience to my landscape design practice.

I am certified in landscape design by the New York Botanical Garden.

I enjoy working in collaboration with clients to design gardens that provide a personal sense of relationship to nature, which I call relational gardening.

Relational gardening is an expression I use to describe our unique response to the life of the garden with its nurturing beauty and natural rhythms.

I come from a family of hands-on gardeners and designed my first garden over thirty years ago when my husband and I bought our first house.  An innate love of gardens was a constant in my life through an 18 year investment career focused on supporting growth companies, subsequent work as an exhibiting artist, and use of my skill and teaching ability to educate others about art, organic gardening, and environmental matters at a local level.

Seeing nature and the garden through the eyes of our young children renewed my wonder of the natural world and underscored the power of personal connection at any age.  Garden design has become a living creative medium for me that includes this relational connection,  aesthetics, and the dynamic movement of the seasons through time.

I pursued studies at the New York Botanical Garden, ultimately earning my Certificate of Landscape Design in 2020.  Using my skills to help clients find pleasure, a sense of comfort, and connection in their gardens is truly satisfying.

I design individual garden beds, full residential landscapes, vegetable and cutting gardens, mixed planters and renewals and updates of existing gardens.
