NEW YORK

UNITY FLOW PARK

THE DESIGN FOR UNITY FLOW PARK FOCUSED ON IMPROVING CIRCULATION  WITHIN AN UNDERUTILIZED NEW YORK CITY PARK WITH TWO DISPARATE HALVES DOMINATED BY CHERRY TREES AND BIRCH RESPECTIVELY.  THE BARK OF EACH OF THESE SPECIES ARE CHARACTERIZED BY LENTICELS (SHOWN BOTTOM RIGHT) WHICH BECAME THE INSPIRATION FOR THE ELONGATED OVAL BEDS IN THE PLAN, WHILE THE COLORING OF THEIR FOLIAGE, BLOSSOMS AND BARK INFLUENCED THE PLANTING PALETTE..
